Highest Mountain
Al Hamra Heritage Village
Visit the ancient village and Bait Al Safa living history museum where locals demonstrate old Omani traditions in a restored 400-year-old mud-brick house. You will be encouraged to take a photo dressed in national costumes.
Misfat Al Abrieen
A walk in a picturesque old mountain oasis with banana groves and garden terraces. It is possible to find famous Omani mountain honey here in one of local shops.
Al Hoota Cave
Take a ride on an electric train into the depths of the stunning cave to explore 2 million year-old stalactite and stalagmite formations and admire this natural wonder in complete silence. It is 5km long and hosts a unique ecosystem with a number of lakes where endemic Bu Naseh blind fish swim. There is also a geological exhibition showcasing a variety of rocks and corals in the Visitors Center.
Jebel Shams
Mountain of the Sun is part of Hajar Mountain range and at 2,997 meters is the highest point of Oman. Go on a short and easy hike to admire Wadi Ghulo, unforgettable views of Grand Canyon of Arabia.
